Then wish for them to patiently key them into book form, then index every name of the deceased folks, all the next-of-kin, children, siblings, parents, in-laws, outlaws, law officers, preachers, shirt-tail cousins, pallbearers, etc. If you have family in northwest Arkansas, particularly Johnson, Madison, Marion, and Newton Counties, your wish has come true. Jimmie and Doris spent countless hours at microfilm readers, traveled many miles to archives and libraries, and waded the weeds in many cemeteries to gather this important information. Each obituary is completely transcribed, including the newspaper citation, and annotated with additional information from the Dewberry's files. These obits are taken from newspapers in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, California, Oregon, and all those other states our home folks wandered off to. Natural deaths weren't enough: there are auto accidents, suicides, and murders, too. Each volume has over 900 obits of people who had some connection to northwest Arkansas. The dates of death range from the early 1900s to the present day. Contact us: Arkansas Research, Inc., PO Box 303, Conway, AR 72033 |
